BIO
In my late teens I learned the philosophy of yoga living in an ashram, studying the Bhagavad Gita and chanting mantras in Sanskrit. This experience has deeply impacted me in the way I see yoga. Later, I was exposed to various styles of yoga, focusing on asana (postures of yoga). I concentrated on movements of the body as I immersed in modern dance, training with the well-known Peruvian teacher, Morella Petrozzi, for two years. When I moved to Seattle in 2008, yoga became a new way to connect with others as I solidified my practice. I was inspired by workshops with Seane Corn and Shiva Rea as well as amazing local teachers such as Dawn Jansen and Douglas Ridings. In 2012, I decided to get the 200-hour teacher certification offered at Yogalife and they were the most amazing 9 months of intense and dedicated training in hatha and vinyasa yoga I have had.
I bring to the mat my desire to share the benefits of yoga and approach to all kinds of students. I teach slow flow, Hatha flow, yoga for children and, of course, Yoga in Spanish! I have been a language teacher for 16 years and bring this expertise to the mat, this time teaching the beautiful language of yoga.
